Hesitations and mid-sentence changes of direction become more frequent after Part 1 and there are significant pauses in Part 2, especially towards the end in the talk about sports leggings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A range of connectors is used but would be more impressive if an overreliance on\u00a0<i>and\u00a0<\/i>(x 45) were reduced. Likewise, overuse of\u00a0the discourse markers,\u00a0<i>I think\/I think not<\/i>, which\u00a0are\u00a0employed constantly<i>\u00a0<\/i>in Part 3 (x 16), should be cut back.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLEXICAL RESOURCE\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>As noted earlier, the candidate is generally able to talk at length on topics and shows that she has the\u00a0range of\u00a0vocabulary to do so without relying on excessive repetition.\u00a0There are some occasions when breakdowns in speech indicate problems accessing vocabulary, as in Part 1 when\u00a0<i>the beautiful view<\/i>\u00a0is employed twice after hesitations\u00a0involving a search for language\u00a0&#8230;\u00a0to describe Tai O and other villages,\u00a0and later, Sweden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some errors are made, such as the confusion over\u00a0<i>employer\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>employee\u00a0<\/i>in Part 3, but the message is nearly always clear.\u00a0There are few examples of collocation,\u00a0and of\u00a0idiomatic and less common lexis,\u00a0and paraphrase is used sparingly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tGRAMMATICAL RANGE AND ACCURACY \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>There is\u00a0plenty of grammatical complexity with a good range of subordinate clauses and some complex verb tenses, though the latter\u00a0tends to\u00a0result in\u00a0mistakes\u00a0as at the end of Part 1 in the reference to a cancelled exchange opportunity in Sweden.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The majority of sentences contain some error.
