In the IELTS tests I took before, I had a poor time management and once I even left the entire writing Task 1 blank. So I think having a good time management is a key to the success of the test.
In terms of challenges confronted in the listening test, I think I often made lots of spelling mistakes. Thus, if you would like to get good scores, you should get familiar with the spellings of more daily-used vocabulary items. As for reading and writing tests, since there’s a time limit in the papers, it’s quite important for you to make use of the relevant skills in saving your time in the test process, such as skimming and scanning skills for getting the required answers in the reading test. To prepare for the speaking test, I strongly recommend you to jot down the useful words, idioms and phrases from your daily contact with English, such as from the movies and YouTube videos, which could help you to express yourself better in the test.
Regarding test resources, Road to IELTS is a useful tool for test preparation. You can work on the tasks from the easiest to the most difficult levels. If you would like to have practices on the whole IELTS test, the practice papers published by Cambridge University Press can also be helpful.
Good luck with your test!
